I’m Kristin and I’m so glad you’re here! This is a little space where I can share my thoughts, perspectives, life hacks, funny moments, and favorite things with you.

A little more about me.

In real life, I am a medical Speech Language Pathologist, which is actually nothing like the name suggests (find out more about that here).  I love working with people and helping them during their most vulnerable times.  I am currently based in a hospital but I have also worked in Acute rehab, home care, and skilled nursing facilities.

 

Outside of work, I love overbooking myself, finding new recipes that I will never make, and delving into the never ending research surrounding the best ways to parent my children to give them the best chance at a happy and fulfilled life (but no pressure, right?!).

 

The rest of my time is dedicated to myself and my amazing family.  I am a mom to 3 beautiful boys (and a dog and a very old cat) and wife to the best husband in the world, who I often refer to as a unicorn man because men like him don’t typically exist in real life.

Why a blog?

I have loved writing for as long as I can remember.  Back in the days of the huge spaced dotted lined paper, I always asked for more pieces because one sentence was just never enough to explain what I did over the weekend.  I loved making up stories and I especially loved naming characters.  I always wanted a million children just to name them (then I started having kids and realized that 3 might be enough!).  

 

I have wanted to start a blog for YEARS, like back before blogs were really even a thing.  But I never knew where to start or what I would write about.  So recently I just decided to take the plunge and see where it goes.

 

What you can expect.

This is a space to share many aspects of my life that I think others may find useful. I am a hardcore Disney fan, a lover of sunshine, and a recovered perfectionist (well… maybe not fully recovered).

 

I do have a much more vulnerable side though. I rode the struggle bus real hard for many years in a battle with postpartum depression and anxiety.  Add to that the diagnosis of ADHD (which happened in my early 20s, but I completely ignored) and daily life was more like clawing my way to a surface that was never there.  I still struggle in finding balance, but I’m getting there.  It’s something I am very open about in hopes of helping someone else through their own battles.  

 

One of my daily coping strategies includes making lists because really… who doesn’t love a good list?! Many posts here are in list form and most are just 5 items…short, sweet, and to the point.. you know Party of 5 style.
